
Leslie Robinson, Assistant Director, Insurance (Licensing & Authorisations) at the Bermuda Monetary Authority, has over 20 years of experience working in the private sector in the insurance industry in Bermuda. Her career has primarily been focused in the areas of captive management and broking.
Before joining the Authority, Mrs. Robinson was Vice President and Head of Technical Underwriting Services at Ariel Reinsurance. Her work experience prior to that appointment includes being Partner - Manager of Underwriting & Claims at JLT Risk Solutions; AVP, Insurance Officer at International Risk Management; Senior Underwriter & Team Leader at Sedgwick Management; and she held various positions in the Technical Services and Intermediaries departments of Johnson & Higgins. At the Authority, Mrs. Robinson heads the team that is responsible for assessing all applications and requests affecting the licensing and registration of insurance companies operating in Bermuda.She is also a member of the Authority's Assessment & Licensing Committee, the organisation's in-house resource for reviewing and recommending applications submitted by entities looking to obtain licenses to operate in the jurisdiction. Mrs. Robinson earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Emory University and is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London (ACII). She is an advocate for insurance education, having been the first full time lecturer of Insurance Studies at the Bermuda College, as well as a former lecturer of insurance courses at the Bermuda Insurance Institute (BII). She currently is a member of the BII's Education Committee and a presenter for their Insurance Induction programmes.
