Phil obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in July 1984 while training with the Nottingham office of BDO Stoy Hayward, a major International Public Accounting firm. Phil moved to Bermuda in December 1984 and joined Deloitte & Touche, where he gained experience in the insurance industry auditing captive insurance companies.
In 1986, he joined Alexander Insurance Managers as an Account Executive responsible for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of captive clients. Subsequently, Phil held increasingly senior positions within the Financial Services department with responsibility for implementing quality control procedures, systems evaluation and new business development.In September 1999, Phil was promoted to Managing Director of Aon Insurance Managers (Bermuda) Ltd. with full management responsibility for the day to day operations of the Bermuda office. He has since overseen the merger with International Risk Management (Bermuda) Ltd. as well as the considerable organic growth in our client base.Phil is the immediate Past-President of the Bermuda Insurance Management Association. He also serves as a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee that advises Government on matters of insurance and is a board member of the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE).
